iHub Data

Convergent LAN

iHub provides LAN (local area network) infrastructure for customers, configured to enable voice and data services and applications to be run over the same network. This is done through deploying quality of service (QoS) components that prioritise time sensitive traffic such as voice and video, above low priority data traffic, such as email. A convergent network is an important requirement for VoIP if there are more than a few VoIP users on the company network.

Pre defined and configured components are provided, simplifying installation and maintenance, and reducing cost. All LAN components are supported and managed by iHub, providing a complete end to end service for easier support and rapid trouble shooting.

iHub provides LAN solutions using best of breed Nortel and Cisco components.

WAN

WAN (wide area network) provides the data connectivity between customer sites, and also to the iHub network. A variety of different technologies can be used depending on the customer’s requirements for reliability and data speed. These include:

- Leased lines

- MPLS VPNs

- Ethernet

Services can be configured using quality of service (QoS) parameters to enable simultaneous use by voice, video and data applications to eliminate the requirement for multiple networks.

Leased lines provide the most efficient way of connecting two sites with a reliable connection and fixed data transfer speed. Sites can also be connected to the internet or iHub’s network for IP Voice services.

VPNs are virtual private networks that provide a cost effective solution for connecting multiple sites and mobile workers. MPLS (multi protocol label switching) enable VPNs to support multiple types of applications, such as allowing mobile workers to use one connection for both voice and internet connectivity.

iHub also provides a comprehensive fully managed service where we proactively monitor and support on site equipment ensuring we are able to respond to problems quickly and effectively.
